Saw Chain

Bill's Service Center is a Stihl dealer and we stock Stihl brand saw chain, but the pre-cut loops that we carry fit a variety of brands, such as Echo, Homelite, Husqvarna, Poulan and RedMax.  Please bring your old chain, or the model number of the saw and chain details (pitch, gauge and number of drive links), to see if we have what you need.  Buy two or more chains and receive a 20% discount.

Stihl saw chains are designed for all types of woodcutting, and for most makes and models of chainsaws.  Every Stihl chain incorporates an exclusive, patented Oilomatic® lubricating feature and every component is engineered to work together to maximize the use of bar oil.  Stihl Oilomatic® saw chains feature specially engineered grooves designed to channel oil to critical wear areas.  This superior lubrication feature helps extend the chain's life and reduces stretching.

The part number of each Stihl chain can be used for easy identification.  Conversely, knowing the specifications and size of a chain can be used to choose a Stihl chain.

"Green" Saw Chain

Stihl saw chain with a green-colored link or in a box with a green marking indicates that the chain has an extra guard link which reduces the possibility of kickback.  Stihl recommends that homeowners use this type of chain.

"Yellow" Saw Chain

Stihl saw chain with a yellow-colored link or in a box with a yellow marking indicates that the chain does not have an extra guard link to reduce the possibility of kickback.  Stihl recommends that only trained professionals use this type of chain and that they be aware of the possibility of more kickback while cutting wood.
